Odlo

The ODLO brand was founded in 1946 by Odd Roar Lofterød Senior, cross-country ski champion of the Canton of Oslo in 1933, who was the first leader until 1979. He always had the motto “Always a step ahead!” In both sport and life.
After a successful experience in a garment factory, where he acquired a technical know-how, he laid the foundation of the ODLO FABRIKKER A/S in 1946 without suspecting the success of the future.
The main stages of the evolution of the brand:

  • In 1963: launch of the first extensible and functional combination in Helanca, a revolutionary synthetic fiber
  • In 1973: introduction of ODLO TERMIC, the first 100% synthetic sports underwear
  • In 1987: launch of the ATHLETIC CLOTHING SYSTEM, based on the principle of superposition of clothing thicknesses: the undergarments wick away moisture released during the action while the middle layer and outer garments protect the body from wind and weather conditions.
  • In 1999: new motto “ODLO – Go Global” with many affiliates in the world gathering some 370 employees today.

Some applications of the Degré 7 brand: stretch lines, laser-cut and thermo-bonded pockets, waterproof zips … All these technological advances have made it possible to create 4 specific lines: Technical, Duvillard, Crossover and Kids.
